Custom Reference Databases

AKOncCytB_20250930.fasta is a reference database designed to be used with the AKOncCytB primer set found in Menning et al. 2023. This custom reference database was last updated with data from the National Center for Biotechnology Information nucleotide database as of September 30th, 2025. Please note, due to the similarity of these sequences, in order to properly differentiate between them, your similarity stringency when comparing to unknown sequences must be set to at least 98% or greater.

AKSalvCOI_20250930.fasta is a reference database designed to be used with the AKSalvCOI primer set found in Menning et al. 2023. This custom reference database was last updated with data from the National Center for Biotechnology Information nucleotide database as of September 30th, 2025. Please note, due to the similarity of these sequences, in order to properly differentiate between them, your similarity stringency when comparing to unknown sequences must be set to at least 97% or greater. Additionally, even though there are multiple sequences listed as Salvelinus sp., this primer set CANNOT differentiate between the Salvelinus sp., and any hit to a Salvelinus sp. should only be considered identified to the Genus level.
